Yesterday three new baby geese were born on the Ranch. Having 4 different ponds to play in, mom and dad were taking them from one pond to the next, introducing them to their new world.

Joe, I don't mean to bear of bad news, but these geese are most likely "Resident" Canadian Geese who will distroy the grasses around your ponds which will lead to erosion(& they never go back home in the winter). Maryland DNR issues free permits for "egg depredation order" to help control the geese population growth.
anonymous 12:40, there's plenty of grass for them to eat, no problem. They will go home in the winter. The only ones that don't are the ones that are hand fed from the Salisbury Zoo who puts out 200 pounds of duck chow a day so the river has lots of wild animals for visitors to view. They're their own enemy.
I'm the one who lives on this property and after almost 7 years of being here one thing I can assure you of is that they do go home for the winter.
As for erosion, if my Horses haven't done any damage to my ponds, I hardly think these geese could do any. The ponds were designed for animals with slow slopes. They're not going to erode anything. This property is animal friendly, period.
12:40pm - I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but the proper name of these geese is Canada Geese, not Canadian Geese.
