Where's The Justice?

Yesterday we produced a Press Release from the Fruitland Police Department.

Essentially, this was an 83 year old woman who lived in her own home with Family Members who allegedly did not care for her for some 2 years. Her 82 year old Husband was arrested along with her two Daughters. A Granddaughter also lived in the home. A Grandson who was not living in the home visited the property and noticed what he felt was an unusual amount of blood on the Grandmother's sheets.

He called for the Fruitland EMS Units and that's how the investigation started. It's been reported that these people just didn't take care of this 83 year old woman and she was hospitalized due to her current condition.

Commissioner Timmons placed a $100,000.00 Bond on one of the Family Members and a $15,000.00 Bond on another Family Member, after they were arrested.

Today, Judge R. Scott Davis released both these individuals on their own recognisance. It's also my understanding that they had seven cats in the home, (around 1,200 sq. ft) that may have actually had better care than the 83 year old woman.

There is no justice for the vulnerable and weak. There is only justice for the criminals and abusers.

Our legal system is in need of repair , the lawyers and judges need to go. Like the school in new england that fired 83 teachers , we need to do that to the legal system somehow. When the tea party finds how that they aren't making progress , then the $hit will hit the fan then lock and load , I'm ready. My memory is good , my spelling is poor , but I do remember the large obama signs in my neighbors yards.

No justice , typical for most judicial systems. Don't know Davis , but he needs to be smacked around a little.

Its based on flight risk.

In all fairness and with all due respect, Davis is an Adam Henry. But not withstanding his likeness to the lower orifice, his reduction of the bond was based on a few things.

1) Are defendants currently on parole or probation;
2) Are the defendants a danger to society?
3) Are the defendants likely to fail to appear for court based on the seriousness of the charge and any past history of FTA.

There was likely an order issued to the defendants to stay away from the victim and the victim's residence, place of employment, etc., as a condition of their release. It's pretty unlikely that these people will hurt the victim again while this case is pending.

BUT....R.Scott is an ass. Just sayin'.

If you replaced R Scott with a real judge you would probably see a huge difference!

Any person who could do what these people did to another human who happened to be their wife, mother and grandmother, will have their day of reckoning. No matter what happens to them, they will be held accountable. I hope this poor woman survives and becomes healthy til the end of her days.

So where is the 83 year old victim now? Did Adult Protective Services place her in a nursing home, or with another relative? Or is she in the home with these people who mistreated her?

You're confusing releasing someone on bond with finding someone innocent of a charge. 4:21 did a good job stating some of the considerations during a bond hearing. Let the process run it's course and hold off passing judgement until the final outcome.

5:26- They said on the news she is currently in a nursing home.

Poor lady. Was her husband mentally competent? Did the daughter tell him, "Don't worry, it's under control?" (Hell, I had a health care professional tell me that 'til I saw my loved one turning blue!)

I know a couple where one cared for the other, but not very well and no one noticed until both were pretty far along.

Not judging one way or the other, just wondering. This is so very sad.

I hope this lady will be okay.
