Just because Mark Zuckerberg appeared before Congress last week to answer a plethora of questions about the way Facebook handles user data and privacy doesn’t mean Facebook is done with the Cambridge Analytica scandal. There are more “hard questions” ahead, given that Zuckerberg’s answers weren’t exhaustive.
One of the things the Facebook CEO failed to address appropriately during questioning concerns the way Facebook tracks internet users, regardless of whether they have a Facebook account, or whether they’re signed into one. Zuckerberg acknowledged that Facebook tracks all your activity online, saying it does it for security reasons.
Reports that followed revealed that Facebook isn’t really interested in building tools that would allow non-Facebook users to keep track of the kind of data Facebook collects, and opt out. It turns out that you can’t really prevent Facebook, or other internet companies, from tracking your activities.

"It turns out that you can’t really prevent Facebook, or other internet companies, from tracking your activities." - thats a lie
use google chrome's incognito feature.
of course not!!! They want your data for two reasons... one is to track you, to be able to put ads in your face at every corner, and to sell your info to other people... And Two, so they can put it in their AI algorithms to see how you well react to things and to see if you will be a threat at some point...
Kind of like the movies, Eagle Eye and Minority Report... You all will see in the end!!! Wither you think so or not, you will be affected if you are alive when the dollar goes 100% cashless... And its coming... Look at what Maryland said, they want all tolls to be electronic, no cash... If you don't have easy pass or a credit card, how will you pay the toll?
But as long as you can get through the line faster right??? Long as you can get the next Iphone right???
As long as you can blog anonymous right???
If you don't want to be tracked stop using Facebook. Or for that matter any online activities what so ever. Everything you do is tracked. You are on camera everywhere you go. Get over it. Either accept it or go off the grid, which is pretty much impossible to do.
Lol...Google chromes incognito feature is tracking you, location and search history for security purposes. It's ALL being collected and google in particular is collecting much more then Facebook. Whistle blower who worked at google said the program was 5x bigger then Facebook. The incognito features just make people feel good... Don't use the internet and your not being tracked.
8:33 I hope you're not being serious. Incognito just prevents your browser from keeping a history of the pages you visit. Rest assured facebook still collects your info lol
8:35 go purify some more water in your doomsday bunker

no history, no cookies, nothing for FB to track. I also stated I don't use google. There are other browsers that do not track.
Works for me, I get no advertising based on my searches
Laugh all you want but the way I've got it tweaked I have no issues at all.
I suggest you look into startpage and duckduckgo
Who cares, I don't put anything on FB that I'm ashamed of. I don't mind the ads because that's what makes it free to use.
Facebooks business model is to sell access to you to marketers.
THEY TRACK EVERYTHING
Anyone who uses facebook is a fool and deserves what you get.
Facebook, google track your down loads. Anonymous means nothing. All your searches and travel activitys.
Facebook is tracking you right now. I suggest you watch the congress hearing from beginning to end. It's mind blowing. EVERYTHING is collected and stored unless you don't have a cell phone or computer. IP registration.
Every thing you do is tracked. Using a shopping bonus card even using your credit card. Utilities profile your energy use and have you in a demographic. Every prescription every text every phone call Comcast, Netflix,Hulu,Amazon even your own bank and the payments you make or don't. They know if you hoard cash or guns smoke and never go to the dentist. Your texts or calls to your weed dealer your dog walker or your babysitter your grandma. It's nothing new people. Get a library card and offline.
