The Odds of Impeachment Are Dropping

Despite Robert Mueller’s damaging disclosures, Republican voters offer Trump unwavering support.

Now that Michael Flynn has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, and agreed to dish on his former boss, some Trump-watchers are suggesting that impeachment may be around the corner. “It’s time to start talking about impeachment,” announced a Saturday column on CNN.com. The Flynn deal, declared former Deputy Assistant Attorney General Harry Litman in Friday’s New York Times, “portends the likelihood of impeachable charges being brought against the president of the United States.”

That may be true. But bringing impeachment charges against Trump, and actually forcing him from office, are two vastly different things. And while the former may be more likely today than it was half a year ago, the latter is actually less likely. Since Robert Mueller became special counsel in May, the chances of the House of Representatives passing articles of impeachment—and the Senate ratifying them—have probably gone down.

This article is talking about strategies, who will be needed to impeach.

IF Trump is guilty of impeachable offenses, and it can be demonstrated as such, there should be no question of how the vote comes out... 100% in favor. It's not politics, it's about what is right. If the evidence does not support it, then it shouldn't be considered, or if it is, it would be 100% not in favor.

How did we get to the point we are so politically divided we can't see straight?

909 your answer lies on internet boards just like this one. I fully agree with what you are saying.

In all fairness, there are a few things he needs to change because none of us are perfect.Probably the greatest President ever, but technology is too available to him.Jared was a poor choice, and he seems to be overly revenge driven.Still the best Pres ever.

909 - I agree. 9:33 - you are wrong! The divisive politics has been driven by the left. It is all in the Alynsky plan - it is all about division. Finally some republicans are starting to fight back because we have no choice. Messages boards are just one way to fight back. I hate to say it but it is not going to get better. Here is an example - At work for 8 years during the Obama adm we conservatives were not happy, but never wished ill will on Obama. Now, daily I have to listen to the dems wishing Trump gets impeached or "worse" or we have a coup. Really! They are so hateful they would rather the country truly spiral out of control by a coup - give me break!

1016 can it. If you are all in on the "its a right vs left battle", you sir are a major part of the problem

And 1016 you are also a liar or just plain ignorant of facts. I cam cycle through plenty of stories and comments from this board that spoke to "ill will" towards Obama. You folks wanted him to fail from Day 1 and activley plotted to make sure that happened. Fools from both sides need to realize the competition should only be durimg the electiin season. After that we are all on the same side and should be engaged in supoortimg each other
