'A 'For Sale' Sign at City Hall': FBI Indicts 2 PA Dem Mayors in Pay-to-Play Probe

Two Democratic Pennsylvania mayors were indicted Wednesday as part of a wide-ranging FBI corruption probe.

The mayors of Reading and Allentown - the state's third-largest city - were named among the defendants in the five-person indictment.

Acting U.S. Attorney for Eastern Pennsylvania Louis Lappen said Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski (D) was charged with 14 counts relating to running a pay-to-play scheme, and other offenses.

Lappen said Pawlowski and former Reading Mayor Vaughn Spencer (D) "essentially put up a 'for sale' sign in front of their city halls to sell city work to the highest bidder," Lappen said, according to WFMZ-69 News.

How is it so easy to find and charge all these corrupt Democrats but not the Clintons??????

The Clintons have 100 lawyers and accountants to keep the law away and the books private.

If you bothered to educate your self on the story before commenting you would find that it took a long time for Pawlowski to be charged. Even after it was obvious he was guilty, for some reason it took an inordinate amount of time for them to actually file against him.

There was a lot of public outcry and pressure that went ignored.

AND - he has not resigned and is still Mayor.

Would not surprise me if that goes on around here. Our city government is not sparkling clean. Ask some of the city workers. Just promise them they will NOT lose their jobs for speaking up.

Coming to a city near you! Trust me people I contacted every state and federal government agency two years ago about Salisbury's ongoing corrupt hiring practices, corrupt bidding processes etc. Whether or not there is an investigation ongoing who knows. Literally contacted EVERY possible one

507 they can't confirm or deny an investigation while one is in progress. It's against their rules. If you've contacted law enforcement then chances are they are looking into things especially if Salisbury is taking any Federal money. Now is the time to recontact because the Trump DOJ is more about law and order than Obama's corrupt political spinmasters. Wray will be confirmed in September and would be more open to investigating Jake Day and his group of thieves along with the illegal pay to plays here with various developers. It wouldn't be at all surprising if they're already under investigation.
