Man charged with abduction at Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel in 2015 pleads guilty

A man captured on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel after he kidnapped his former girlfriend at gunpoint pleaded guilty Tuesday to abduction and firearm charges.

In exchange, prosecutors agreed to seek a sentence of no more than five years for 23-year-old Phillip James Timmons, according to a plea agreement entered in the case. Timmons, of Delmar, Md., has been held without bond since his arrest on Oct. 4, 2015.

According to a stipulation of facts submitted by prosecutors, Timmons broke into his former girlfriend’s home in Maryland at about 2 a.m. and abducted her after she repeatedly told him not to come over.
