Breaking News: Sergio Garcia won the Masters in a playoff, finally taking his first major 18 years after he burst on the scene as a teenage prodigy

Sergio García weathered the challenge of his playing partner Justin Rose and potential calamity on the back nine to claim his long-awaited first major title.

After starting the round tied with Rose at six under par, Garcia built a three-shot lead early, lost it, fell behind Rose by two after 11 holes, missed a short putt at the 18th hole to win and then claimed the green jacket with a birdie on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff.

In a world with so many challenges - sports and entertainment can provide an outlet to momentarily pause reality. Although most do not understand how folks can watch "GOLF" on tv, that's ok - you have your own outlet to pause reality

Sergio is no longer one of the up and coming young guns - but watching him all these years, finally breaking through with his 1st major - was indeed a joy!

Tomorrow (Monday) will be back to reality.....but then it will ONLY be 4 days until TGIF and a full moon!!!!!!!!!!!

I was glad to see him win. And I was just waiting for sixty minutes to come on.

Long overdue. Should have happened 15 years ago. He's a magician on the course. I think he pressured himself too much. Plus off the course was a "bad boy". He's finally mature & settled. Hope it's not too late for him to become one of the greats. Because, I believe he is.
