2007 Queen Elizabeth II becomes the oldest monarch in the history of the UK; previously, that honor belonged to Queen Victoria.

South Carolina left the union on 12/20/1860 after the election of Abraham Lincoln

Each/every year, Dec 20th is the day before calendar recognized 1st day of Winter (Dec 21st).

10:40 just remember 12/21 is also the shortest day of the year. While I'm not thrilled with the cold, it's the short days that kill me!

Yeah, what 9:57 said. South Carolina seceded in 1860, BEFORE the Civil War started, not 1869, four years after it ended.
