Jackie Evancho to Perform National Anthem at Trump Inauguration

Teenage singer Jackie Evancho will perform the National Anthem at Donald Trump’s inauguration in Washington, DC on January 20, the President-elect’s inaugural committee announced Wednesday.

The 16-year-old opera singer is best known for her appearance on America’s Got Talent, where she finished second during the 2010 season, at just 10 years old.

“I have recently been asked by the President-elect to perform the National Anthem for the swearing-in ceremony at the inauguration,” Evancho said on Today Wednesday morning. “I’m so excited. It’s going to be awesome.”

Good news. Refreshing to see a humble and truly talented person like Evancho selected to perform the National Anthem.
Especially when compared to another no talent, lip syncing, poor role model, racist and anti-police female who is a pal to Michelle Obama.

Mr. Trump is really helping out the network that airs America's Got Talent.
Way to go Mr. Trump!

I think that's great but I wonder how many young kids really know what the words of that song mean and how it came to be written? I remember sometime in elementary school a teacher explained it and we discussed it and it always means something special every time I hear it.
