Worcester County Sherriff’s Office Press Release 2-8-16


The Worcester County Sherriff’s Office Sex Offender Monitoring Unit is seeking help in locating Tymir Denard  Johnson, age 31, from the Berlin area. Mr. Johnson was last observed by law enforcement at his residence December 17th, 2015 when a Parole and Probation agent along with a Detective from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office conducted a home visit. Since that time, neither agency has had contact with Mr. Johnson although multiple attempts have been made.
Mr. Johnson is classified as a child sex offender and a sexually violent offender under Maryland Law and had served 7 years of a 15 year sentence.
Warrants have been obtained for Mr. Johnson for failing to register and violation of Probation.

On February 4, 2016 at approximately 19:36 hours, a Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy was dispatched to 8600 Block of Marshall Creek Road, Newark, Worcester County, Maryland in reference to an assault.
  It was determined that Amy Katherine Patrick 35, from Newark, Md. 
and Daryl Thomas Hardy 55, from Newark, Md., allegedly assaulted one another. 
It was also determined that Amy Patrick had assaulted Daryl Hardy's mother.
     Ms. Patrick and Mr. Hardy were each placed under arrest and charged with 2nd Degree Assault. Both were held at the Worcester County Jail on a $1,000.00 bond pending trial.
 
 
On February 5, 2016 at approximately 2100 hours, a Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy was dispatched to Panera Bread West Ocean City, Maryland in reference to Indecent Exposure.
  Witnesses advised a male juvenile pulled down his pants and placed his nude buttocks against the glass window of Panera Bread.
 The juvenile was placed under arrest. The juvenile was charged with Indecent Exposure and Disorderly Conduct. The case was referred to the department of Juvenile Services
 
 
On February 5, 2016 at approximately 23:22 hours a Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Ocean Gateway and Stephen Decatur Highway in West Ocean City, Maryland, for failing to move over when approaching an emergency vehicle with flashing lights.
     The Deputy identified the driver as Michael Lee Simpson 31, of Selbyville, Delaware.
A driver's license and wanted check on Simpson, revealed he had an active Protective Order against him and the protected party was in the vehicle with him.
     Mr. Simpson was placed under arrest for the Violation of an out of State Protective Order, Mr. Simpson was released by the court commissioner pending trial.
 
On February 5, 2016 at approximately 2257 hours a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was travelling behind a blue Toyota Tundra as it turned from westbound Route 50 onto Route 589.  The Deputy observed the brake light located on the top rear of the passenger cab was inoperable when the brakes were applied. The Deputy stopped the vehicle. The Deputy identified the driver as Jay Sterling Saunders 45, of Ocean Pines, Maryland. The Deputy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Mr. Saunder's breath Saunders agreed to submit to a series of field sobriety tests which he did poorly.
Mr. Saunders was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.  Mr. Saunders was released pending trial.
 
On 2/6/2016 at approximately 0132 hours a Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy was stationary on Route 113 in the area of Germantown Road conducting speed enforcement when he observed a vehicle traveling Northbound that was traveling at speed of 57 mph in the posted 45 mph zone.  The Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as 28 year old Shanice Sherrelle Cross.  Ms. Cross was in possession of a handgun. Ms. Cross was arrested and charged with a handgun violation. Ms. Cross was released by the court commissioner on personal recognizance.
