Cancer patient steals $65K in jewelry for bills

A Snow Hill woman was found guilty of stealing more than $65,000 worth of jewelry and other items from her Ocean City employer, the Indian River Trading Co., following a trial last Friday in District Court in Snow Hill.

Christine Davis, 46, was a trusted employee, Indian River owner Jack Alexander testified.

“My wife and I have been in business for 41 years and we never had an experience of theft like this before, which was both mentally distressing and monetarily impactful,” said Alexander, an Ocean Pines resident.

So much white collar crime goes on down in Worcester County - it isn't even funny. Many of the crimes go unreported. I say the whole area of Worcester County is taboo. Remember the Worcester County Liquor Board. The insider crimes of that Department were also swept under the rug.

This is sad. Had to steal to survive. No cancer patient should have to worry about bills or medical.

I don,t no what cancer this lady has but all I can say is God Bless her. I hope she get,s her life together. If you never had cancer you just could, not realize the burden it put,s on you. The bill,s seem like they just don,t stop coming. If she goes to Richard Henson Cancer center they have a program to help you pay you,re bill,s through the hospital.
