Wastewater Overflow Reaches Chesapeake Bay

A force main break in Annapolis is fixed but not before thousands of gallons of wastewater overflow reached Chesapeake Bay Saturday.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works said the break was reported around 10:30 Saturday morning on Bay Drive.

It took more than twelve hours before repairs were completed at 11 p.m. Saturday.

The cause of the failed ten-inch pipe was said to be external corrosion.
