Somerset County Sheriff's Office Pres Release 12-31-14

William Cloyd Catlin Jr. of Crisfield, arrested 12-20-14 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Catlin was held on a $500.00 bond.

Michelle Denise Dryden of Crisfield, arrested 12-19-14 on a warrant for violation of probation. Dryden was held without bond.

Marcos Perez of Crisfield, arrested 12-21-14 for driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving impaired by alcohol, negligent driving, and driving without a license. Perez was later released on citations pending District Court actions. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop conducted by deputies in the area of Crisfield Highway, and Sign Post Road.

Joseph William Maxwell of Princess Anne, arrested 12-24-14 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Maxwell was later released on personal recognizance.

Jon Derrick Jones of Fruitland, arrested 12-28-14 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Jones was held on a $250.00 bond.

Joseph Timothy Burkhead of Whaleyville, arrested 12-29-14 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Burkhead was later released on personal recognizance.

Lancelot Trevor Major of Mardela Springs, arrested 12-26-14 for 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft less than $1,000, and trespassing. Major was later held on a $30,000 bond. The arrest was the result of a theft investigation conducted by deputies from a home on Cathell Road.

Samuel Jacob Whaley of Eden, arrested 12-29-14 for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, possession of suspected marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Whaley was later released on citations pending District Court actions. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop conducted by deputies in the area of Flower Hill Church Road, Eden.

When a person is arrested for failure to appear to court, why are they then released again on just personal recognizance?
If they didn't show up the first time, why would they show up the second time?
