OCEAN CITY — The focus of a civil suit brought against Ocean City, seeking $750,000 by an elderly Philadelphia woman after a wheelchair fall, shifted last week when the plaintiff filed an amended complaint adding the state as a primary defendant.
According to the complaint, on June 16, 2012, the plaintiff, Oda Wendt, 89, of Philadelphia, arrived in Ocean City for her first-ever vacation in the resort. Around 7:50 p.m., Wendt and her family left their condominium to visit the Boardwalk and Wendt was being pushed in a wheelchair by her daughter, Astrid Seiger.
After visiting the Boardwalk, Wendt and her family were going back to their condo and attempted to cross Philadelphia Ave. at Worcester Street from east to west. According to the complaint, the daughter was pushing Wendt in the wheelchair when it struck one of the hard rubber warning mats on the handicap-accessible street corners.

Her sister sued McDonalds for having hot coffee , she spilled in her lap.
These people need to be in jail.
She should go for it as long as the loser pays,but the pusher did lack discretion.For instance,if I see a pothole in the road in front of the vehicle I'm driving I'm not compelled by law to drive into it.I can straddle it or drive around it(if no cars are coming at me)but I know better than to directly impact it.The pusher had to be pushing the W/C at a good clip & not paying attention for this to have happened.Those mats can easily be negotiated.
This is a sue for a living group that should be not only put in jail, but should be compelled to pay ALL the legal fees.
It's called personal responsibility for your own actions. How can you sue someone because you are an idiot. Oh, I know, because you are a democrat.
They are looking for deep pockets to get a nice settlement to live off the rest of their lives. Scum
