Seven Injured in a Late Night Crash South of Harrington

Harrington, DE – Troopers are investigating a two vehicle crash that sent seven people to area hospitals.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. Friday November 14, 2014 as Bryan P. Bowman, 46 of Ocean City, MD was operating a 2005 International 4300 tow truck southbound on South DuPont Highway (US13) in the left lane approaching Hammondtown Road. Felicia Fawn Wilder-Erb, 46 of Harrington, was operating a 2011 Toyota Prius eastbound on Hammondtown Road and had come to a stop at the intersection with US13. Wilder-Erb proceeded into the southbound lanes after the stop and was struck on the left side by the front of the tow truck in the left lane. The truck attempted to brake abruptly prior to the impact and came to a controlled stop just south of the intersection in the left southbound lane. The Prius was pushed in a southerly direction before coming to a stop in the center median southeast of the collision.

Bryan Bowman, who was properly restrained, was transported by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Felicia Fawn Wilder-Erb, was properly restrained and was transported by EMS to Bayhealth Medical Center in Milford where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. She was cited for Failure to Remained Stopped at a Stop Sign, Improper Child Restraints, and No Proof of Insurance.

A 13 year old male and 15 year old male, both of Harrington, were seated in the front seat of the Prius were transported by EMS to Milford Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 16 year old male from Harrington, who was seated in the back seat, was flown to Christiana Medical Center with undetermined injuries and was admitted.

A 15 year old male from Harrington, who was seated in the back seat, was flown to A.I. DuPont Hospital with undetermined injuries and was admitted.

A 12 year old male from Harrington, who was seated in the rear seat, was transported by EMS to Milford Memorial Hospital with undetermined injuries and was admitted.

The southbound lanes of US13 at Hammondtown Road were closed for approximately two hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
