10 Things You Should Never Buy At The Dollar Store

A few weeks ago, we presented you with a list of 15 things that you should buy at the dollar store. Okay, great, but it’s a big store: there must be something that you should avoid, either because of crappy quality or because paying a dollar isn’t such a good deal. Right?

Over at Wisebread, they wrote up a list and also flipped it around, detailing ten items you should buy at the dollar store and then that you should avoid.

1. Electric Appliances

If it has an electric plug, don’t buy it. Counterfeit Underwriters Laboratories seals are a thing, so that’s no guarantee of quality. Just stay away.

I buy Family Dollar brand plastic wrap. I like it the best. It sticks to bowls and wraps sandwiches great.

This morning a guy in line in front of me was holding everybody up.He was attempting to negotiate the price on various items. He had read somewhere that stores will negotiate prices, but the lady at the cash register assured him that Dollar Tree was not one of them.

Since I don't do Walmart, I buy some things at the dollar stores. I buy a few of my cleaning products there. I get their brand of foil and use it with Arm and Hammer Washing Soda to clean my silver.
I mostly use vinegar which I get at Save A Lot because a lot my things are valuable irreplaceable antiques and vinegar isn't too harsh.
