A recent article in the Wall Street Journal reports that employees of 3M and Delaware's state government will not be able to take a smoke break at work, including in parking lots, sidewalks and other outdoor areas on state property.
In addition, North Dakota banned smoking in most public places.

This is where the continued erosion of our rights started..they have established the mechanism of enforcement of a legal product whose second hand smoke arguement goes out the window with any ventilation !!!!sheeple continue to cow down to these violations in the name of health kids blah blah do so at ur own demise !

Smokers have always been an easy target, and the health police used them to lay the ground work to be able to ban all dangerous and unhealthy activities, and they did it in less than 15 years. Fast food and soda will happen even quicker.
Just out of curiosity, who is going to make up the lost revenue when tobacco is banned, or smokers just aren't generating enough revenue?
The savings in health care for smokers who quit far outweighs the lost revenue on selling cigs.
It's never been proven that second hand smoke does anything, much less cause cancer.
If you want to ban smoking, why don't you ban the manufacture of tobacco products?
U anti tabacco types are not getting the point. The second hand smoke basis is INVALID with ciculation or air..why did they not enforce litter laws instead of outdoor bans its about CONTROL.the point is allowing the gov this leyway dooms our future and further erosion of freedoms

I need a ciggerette. The "free state" of MD already bans state employees from smoking on "state property" This crap will never stop. Just ask any restaurant or bar owner how much more money they are making since the ban in Feb of 2009. It's a freaking joke. I remember all the rhetoric of non-smokers frequenting establishments more often. Total BS.

Then why not ban obese people from eating lunch? Obesity causes way more health problems than cigarettes and is a major interuption in workplaces when an obesity related health issue occurs.
