Resume:
Claymont-Delaware State Police homicide detectives have arrested a Wilmington woman in connection with the murder of a Wilmington man that occurred at a local motel.

On Tuesday, June 19, 2012 detectives arrested Sherry Jackson, 48, and charged her with one count each of murder first degree, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited. She was arraigned at JP Court 11 and then committed to the Department of Corrections without bail.

Jackson was developed as a suspect in the case after detectives investigating the homicide obtained a warrant to search the room in the Riverview Motel in which the body of Theodore Tucker had been found deceased. During the search, detectives discovered personal items belonging to Sherry Jackson as well as the possible weapon used in the murder.

Detectives, with the assistance of the New Castle County Governor’s Task Force, then began searching for Sherry Jackson and were able to locate her in the 500 block of W. 6th Street in Wilmington. She was then taken into custody without incident. Jackson was subsequently charged with the above list of crimes.
