Anonymous said...

Have done it before

No, I love my pets, but I could not afford this amount for myself, let alone a pet!

Anonymous said...

if i could afford it yes

Anonymous said...

I have come close to paying that already...

YES I would pay it if I had the money...

People don't realize that dogs have brains and feelings and can think for themselves... They are smart though sometimes they may to dumb things... There will be no better companion whom will meet you at the door every day and with a waggly tail (a smile basically)... Hell you can;t even get that from a man or a women in which you are married to...

If I had the money laying around, absolutely! Without hesitating. Unfortunately we aren't all always in such a blessed situation.

Anonymous said...

I just couldn't afford to do this

Yes. Pets are our family. If you love and respect your pet you will pay any amount for their health, safety and comfort. Pets give us unconditional love and help keep their owners healthy too.

For those judging pet owners/animal lovers about the cost of medical bills for an animal, how do you feel about someone paying tens of thousands of dollars on boats, cars, pools, toys and trips. Do you pass judgement on those people for spending money on what brings them joy? Think about it...!?

If I had the money and could afford to part with it more than my pet, then of course!

Anonymous said...

YEs I would. I would not however expect someone else to pay for MY dog to have sergery.

11:26 What is your comment all about? The question is would you spend the money on YOUR pet...not do you HAVE or LIKE pets. If you don't have a pet and don't like pets then don't answer the question. Grow up!

Anonymous said...

No I do not have the money to do such a thing.

IF I had the money, and the family voted on it and everyone agreed, then Yes. This would be for a family pet.

If this was for a working animal say a sheepdog or a horse and I worked with that animal day in and day out and trusted that animal with my life, I would find the funds even if I did not have it to help that animal no matter what anyone said.

If I could find a way, I definitely would spend $6,000. I would only do it if I knew the odds were good that it would bring the pet a better quality of life.

Dogs man best friend.

No Way and anyone who does certainly should not be have children. You could buy four new dogs at that price. Mammals live and die and get sick. No one can save them all. They are not people, even though some people give them people idenities and emotions. Spend $6000 to send your kid to vet school. I have had many dogs and love and miss them all but my priority is humans.. Everytime I smell pup breath I miss the last dog a little less.

11:46 well said!

Anonymous said...

Yes indeed; they are part of our family!

Anonymous said...

12:44 p Obviously you are a very ignorant person!! Humans are mammals!! Although, in your case, you may not nave yet evolved!!

Anonymous said...

12:44 is right on the money. It's an animal, not a person. Use that 6 grand for your kids education.

The question should be: Do you think the OCPD should have paid $6,000 to help their K-9 dog?
Answer: Yes.
Why: The dog was an officer of the law. If someone shot the dog (k-9) they would facing charges for murder of an officer. This is their responsibility when they hired the k-9 in the first place. Shame on them.

Anonymous said...

certainly. He is an alarm system, a body guard, my best friend and companion.

What if they have no kids? What if their kids already have a college fund? What if you answered the question if it applied to you and not someone else? What if you didn't answer at all?

313pm read it again,DA..Ofcourse humans are mammals and we live and die and get sick like I said. $6000 should be used to save the life of a human being. If want to spend the money on a dog, do it. The question is would I. The answer is no, not under any circumstances because I have evolved and think logically.

I was fortunate to be able to pay this $ for my truly very cherished German Shephard...and also to help my daughter-in-law and son pay another couple thousand for their beloved Rotwiller Roxie. Absolutely I would if I could pay any amount for a pet that is such a close family member!

with out a doubt, if i had the funds and it would help. I'm not that big of a dog lover but any domesticated animal is sort of defensless and in constant need of mans help so to say. But in the same not if it was... say a cow maybe, i'd kill that sucker and eat like a king... long time

You people are funny. "pets show undonditional love". No, they just naturally suck up to whoever provides them with food and petting.

Anonymous said...

if I had it like that

NO

1244 So let me get this straight?? Your dog is say 5 years old and gets hit by a car. You take him to the vet and he can save your dog with surgery. You wouldn't pay the money to save him even though he would live for a number of years after that??

I take offense to your statement with regard to children. I'm unable to have children as I had cancer. So for you to say something so rude is very disrespectful about individuals that they shouldn't have children is just wrong. I would love nothing more than to have had a child. It upsets and angers me that you would make such an ignorant statement.

With regard to a dog, I have two. Would I spend the money on them to save their life?? Yes absolutely. They are my children. They bring me joy every day of my life and if they needed a surgery to improve their quality of life then they would get it. I would also know when to make the right decision to put them to sleep. Unfortunately, I've had to make the decision to put a pet to sleep before in the past but I knew when the time was right. It's called RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP.

Animals do have emotions too. They are happy to see you, sad when you leave, upset when they have done something wrong and they love unconditionally. For you to think otherwise maybe YOU are the one who should NOT have animals at all.

Beth (Unlike you I signed my response and didn't hide behind the word anonymous)

If I could afford it absolutely, if not it would break my heart!
