Wine Tasting Benefits Women Supporting Women

Spread a little “Holiday Cheer” on Thursday, Dec. 8 at a wine tasting and open house to benefit Women Supporting Women’s Worcester County chapter. The fund-raiser is hosted by Bruder Hill boutique at 25 Commerce St. in Berlin from 7 to 9 p.m.

The event will include a tasting of five different wines produced locally by Costa Ventosa Winery and Vineyard of Whaleyville. Costa Ventosa will offer bottles of its wine for sale as well. There will also be desserts by Baked Desserts of Berlin and Bruder Hill will offer 20 percent of all merchandise during the event.

Reservations for “Holiday Cheer” are $30 person and only 40 tickets will be sold. Don’t miss this great opportunity to sample local wines, shop for the holidays and aid WSW, the only locally based breast cancer support organization. All proceeds directly benefit the Worcester County chapter of WSW. Call Rota Knott, WSW’s Worcester County coordinator, at 410-641-2849 for more information.

Women Supporting Women provides free support for breast cancer survivors and their families, including mentoring and support groups, a lending library and educational materials, wigs, scarves and head coverings, prostheses and bras, specially designed pillows and other items to aid in the recovery process. WSW’s programs are entirely funded through community support, donations and grants and all funding is returned directly to the local community through its programs and services.

Does anybody know which store in Berlin is carrying the purses made by a local girl that are like Vera Bradley's. A lady in Marshall's had one and she was telling me but couldn't recall where they are sold.

Try Bungalow Love. It sounds like the handmade bags that she carries. It right down from Town Hall.
