Poverty Grows In Rick Perry's Texas

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Texas Governor Rick Perry likes to brag that his state is an economic powerhouse.

But don't tell that to the nearly one in five Texans who are living below the poverty line.

While it's true that Texas is responsible for 40% of the jobs added in the U.S. over the past two years, its poverty rate also grew faster than the national average in 2010.

Perry scares the bejesus out of me. This guy is really reaching trying to make lemons into lemonade. I have a lot of family in Texas. What a blow hard!

5:38 is rather out of touch with the common man! He should be very proud of taking credit for his working poor accomplishments with 25% of Texans without health insurance. I'll give him credit when he changes the system so that his citizenry actually can have better lives.
