MACO Conference Brochure

It's rather scary in that it depicts the theme of this year's conference to the leaders and members of Maryland's government.

Notice the brochure depicts Wind, Solar, Corn (ethanol)? What missing? How about cars on the road with passengers going to work or shopping, worker's cars on the parking lot of what appears to be a commercial building? There aren't even vessels in the Sea yet there's plenty of green. I guess it's ok if you have a government job for life. I would have preferred a snippet of time devoted to economic recovery and the creation of jobs.

I guess they don't care?

Perhaps if the "reader" would have OPENED the brochure, he/she would have noticed the number of sessions related to economic development.

But I guess the pretty picture threw them and they never got past it...

Well, I went to their website and looked over the Conference Overview and this is what it stated:

"Highlights of the conference include the Closing Session Address by the Governor and the Crab Feast on Friday evening."

What does listening to the Governor giving yet another speech and eating crabs have to do with economic development? He's been quoted widely about how he thinks the Legislature needs to be more open about raising taxes. I guess that can be considered economic development growing Government.
