The Constitution allows for itself to be amended as explained in Article V.
I'm not sure that I understand what this survey is about... did I miss something? Should the survey be about amending something specific?
We definitely need to remove birth-right citizenship!!

I cannot speak for Joe but I think he meant should the constitution be amended at all.
I could be wrong but that's my take on it.
I think it may be time for a Constitutional Convention to work on the Constitution. After all, it is over 200 years old. While many of the articles and amendments have stood the test of time, some are clearly outdated. As for gaining citizenship, that is rather easily done, though I would think that we would want a clause spelling out how many years one should have been a citizen. It is too bad that people like Arnold Schwarzenegger should be precluded from serving as President just because they are not natural-born. (Of course, Schwarzenegger wouldn't stand a chance nowi).

Hmm... I just don't think that is the case, because to amend the Constitution in such a way to stop amendments REQUIRE us to... well..... amend the Constitution.... and Article V of the Constitution clearly states how to amend it... so, I'm still unsure of what this survey question is about.
Sorry, I've been running around taking care of my oldest son (had his wisdom teeth out today) and dealing with comments from another post.
The question is open ended. Do you think it should be amended? If so, how.
Some ideas that have come up over the years:
Repealing Direct Election of Senators
Balanced Budget Amendment
etc., etc.

Well it's purely a hypothetical question. I wasn't suggesting that there be an amendment to stop amendments.
I meant to magically go back to where there were no amendments and simply do not add any amendments. Of course Article V would be a stumbling block to this so it would have to disappear as well.
I'm not sure if I am explaining myself well enough that you and others can understand what I am trying to say.
I guess we really need Joe to come back and explain himself. lol

I would like to see the House of Representatives term changed to be four years like the Senate, so they are not always fund raising for the next election instead of doing the nation's work. The term of both houses of Congress should be limited to 12 years (no lifetime politicians). Finally, let's change the income tax to a flat tax or fair tax.
5:09, a Senate term is six rather than four years.
It should constantly be amended. When it was written there were only 13 states, only white male land owners (aka people who stole land) could vote and the most sophisticated guns were muskets. There was no electricity, no combustion engine, no roads, etc. The world has changed more than our forefathers could have ever envisioned and the constitution should such reflect.
