The bulbs are already widely used in the UK following EU direction to phase out traditional incandescent lighting by the end of this year.But the German scientists claimed that several carcinogenic chemicals and toxins were released when the environmentally-friendly compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) were switched on, including phenol, naphthalene and styrene.

I am so sick of the eviros shoving this crap down our throats and telling us how good it is for the earth. The CFL's are POISON! The worst part is that we will be forced to use them and the left wing elite will be laughing all the way to the bank.
Yeah and can induce seizures (even in those never known to be epileptic), they have mercury in them which if broken can be hazardous to the health of those around, they also cannot be disposed of in regular trash due to the content of mercury....save the land but kill off the population? WOW that seems pointless!
Top it all off they are made in China and we closed down the factories for incandescent light bulb here in the U.S. We all know how much the Chinese love us by putting arsenic in our toothpaste and lead in our kids toys.
FYI..There are disosal boxes for those new bulbs(CFLs) right inside HomeDepot's entrance...do not put them in your trash.
Its much better to live with mother earth's flow. Lights out after dusk. Much more relaxing.

And I'm forced to buy a toilet that won't flush, too, and then replace it again with one from outside the country that will. Shame on us.
