Some 5,000 Non-Citizens Voted In Colorado Election

The state of Colorado knows non-citizens are voting in its elections, they just don’t know how many, The Hill reports.

And that’s a “disturbing wake-up call” that should be the catalyst for every state in the country to review its voter registration records, according to Rep. Gregg Harper of Mississippi, the chairman of the House Administration Committee, which heard testimony from Colorado officials.

According to The Hill, a recent study in Colorado found as many as 5,000 non-citizens in the state took part in last year’s election.

“We simply cannot have an electoral system that allows thousands of non-citizens to violate the law and vote in our elections,” Harper said as his committee called for a national review. “We must do more to protect the integrity of our electoral processes.”
