FRIDAY: Secretary LaHood and Governor O’Malley to Discuss President Obama’s Plan for a Secure Energy Future

With Gas Prices Rising, LaHood and O’Malley Will Discuss Energy Security and the President’s Call to Reduce Imports of and our Dependence on Foreign Oil

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Friday, April 1st, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. ET, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley will hold a conference call with reporters to discuss President Obama’s plan for a secure energy future. This week, at a speech at Georgetown University, President Obama renewed his call to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and laid out steps that will lead to reducing our oil imports by one third by the year 2025.  On Friday, President Obama will visit a UPS shipping facility in Landover, MD where he will view vehicles from AT&T, PepsiCo, UPS and Verizon’s clean fleets and deliver remarks to the companies’ employees.
