The system that will bring us precipitation tonight and tomorrow will be a rather complicated one,
with the 'freeze line' drifting around a bit, depending on how closely it hugs the coast.
Most of us will get some snow, and there may be freezing rain, sleet or even just rain at times.
From the National Weather Service:
...A MIXTURE OF SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED ACROSS
MUCH OF THE REGION TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING.
...LOW PRESSURE WILL TRACK NORTHEAST ALONG AND JUST OFF THE
SOUTHEAST AND MID ATLANTIC COASTS TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING.
SNOW IS EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE REGION FROM SOUTHWEST TO
NORTHEAST TONIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING...THEN TRANSITION TO
A MIXTURE OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN DURING TUESDAY MORNING OVER
INTERIOR SECTIONS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL VIRGINIA...AND
NORTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA...WHILE ALSO MIXING WITH SOME RAIN. THE
PRECIPITATION WILL BE MAINLY SNOW THROUGH THE ENTIRE EVENT FROM
THE CENTRAL VIRGINIA PIEDMONT NORTHEAST ACROSS THE VIRGINIA
NORTHERN NECK...AND INTO INTERIOR SECTIONS OF THE LOWER MARYLAND
EASTERN SHORE.
* AREAS AFFECTED: LOWER MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE.
* PRECIPITATION TYPES: SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION LATE TUESDAY
MORNING...AND CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. THE SNOW COULD
POSSIBLY MIX WITH SLEET DURING TUESDAY AFTERNOON.
* ACCUMULATION: SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF TWO TO FIVE INCHES WILL BE
POSSIBLE.
* TIMING: SNOW IS EXPECTED TO START LATE TUESDAY MORNING...AND
POSSIBLY MIX WITH SLEET DURING TUESDAY AFTERNOON.
* TEMPERATURES: READINGS WILL START OUT IN THE LOWER TO MID 20S
TONIGHT...THEN CLIMB INTO THE LOWER 30S TUESDAY AFTERNOON.
Accuweather:
The storm now slamming the South with severe snow and ice will turn up the Eastern Seaboard on Tuesday into Wednesday, hugging the coast and dumping several inches of snow over many major cities in the Northeast.
Plenty of cold air will remain in place to support snowfall along much of the heavily populated I-95 corridor in the Northeast, while some mixing, including treacherous ice will occur farther south through the mid-Atlantic Coast.
This means that heavy snowfall with amounts of up to a foot could slam a corridor from perhaps as far south as New York City and northern New Jersey to Boston and eastern Maine.
It should be noted that the storm track is still not set in stone. A wobble in the storm's track by only 50 miles can make a major difference in snow totals for the big Northeast cities.

Im curious to see how many people think we are going to get much snow? Do you guys think more or less than last time?
Joe, what is your prediction. I thought you might have Gods phone number.
It's a crap shoot. It doesn't look like we'll be getting what was originaly expected but if the winds change, look out. Time will tell.
when I was a teenager in Crisfield we had weather like this from every Thanksgiving into late March with snow in April. The bay was froze over for weeks on end.Schools were seldom closed as we all walked. No KID LEFT BEHIND we were all poor.God Bless those days. These young people today have no IDEA what life is about.
4:49 Wow, we don't have the Bay freezing over like that anymore. Thank you Global Warming!
7:19, this will be recorded as the coldest winters since the early 1980's. The bay freezing over didn't happen every year. Where is Al Gore now? I heard he opened a new business, he is calling it Al's blowers. "For All Your Winter Needs!"
I predict rain/sleet/ice/snow/ice/sleet/rain by the time WBOC makes up it's mind. LOL
I don't think we will get much from this storm. It will be a good storm north of here, but not much for us here on the Lower Shore.
The measure the warming at the poles, not in your backyards.
It's early Tuesday morning and I'm looking out my window and I see absolutely NOTHING!! Where's the snow? I was looking forward to the beautiful white wonderland again!
