On October 1, 2010 at approximately 10:45 am, Officers of the Maryland State Apprehension Team were on routine patrol in the area of Long Avenue and Mt. Hermon Road and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by below listed suspect # 1 for reckless driving. The Maryland State Apprehension Team is comprised of officers from the Salisbury Police Department, the Maryland State Police, the Wicomico Co. Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshall’s Office and the Maryland Department of Parole and Probation. During the traffic stop, the officers removed all four subjects from the vehicle. Upon removal, below suspect # 2 immediately fled on foot from the area. The officers pursued the suspect who entered, then left, Wi-hi School property then entered the Glen Garden Apartment complex. Suspect # 2 attempted to force entry into an apartment and was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a quantity of suspected "crack"/cocaine and a loaded handgun. The handgun was located between the front seats.

CHARGES (All): Possession of cocaine
Possession of CDS/paraphernalia
Transporting a handgun in a vehicle
In addition, Suspects # 2, # 3 and # 4 were also charged with:
Possession of a regulated firearm by an
underage person
Suspect # 2 was charged additionally with:
Attempted breaking and entering
Transporting a handgun on person
Fleeing and Eluding
Resisting arrest
DISPOSITION: All released to Central Booking

Hope they don't get bail since they were so close to schools with drugs and loaded guns and were willing to flee to a school during school hours. Because if they get bail and can make bail they will not show up for court and continue to be a plague on the community.

This is one of the huge problems that continues to contribute to crime. Low bails and you can't tell me there isn't enough here to stick these guys with some significant amount of time in jail? I'm sure they all have priors as well.
Why were they not charged with possessing a weapon in a school zone? Perhaps that is a Federal offense. Transfer their butts to federal prison where there is NO PAROLE!
