Life Isn't About Waiting For The Storm To Pass, It's About Learning To Dance InTthe Rain.

Many of you know I am a volunteer for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. I have personally seen the impact our special “puppies with a purpose” have had on the lives of visually impaired individuals. Now, Guiding Eyes for the Blind has introduced a new program in which its world-renowned dogs are trained to provide safety for children with autism. Heeling Autism dogs are trained to prevent a child with autism from bolting, and become an important element in keeping the child safe. Families involved in the program have also reported other, life-changing benefits from having a Heeling Autism dog in their homes.

A Heeling Autism dog in a family with an autistic child can:
increase social acknowledgment of the child by his or her peers;
provide companionship;
reduce parental stress; and
increase the child’s level of independence, confidence, and social acceptance.

PepsiCo’s Project Refresh wants to give Guiding Eyes for the Blind’s Heeling Autism program $250,000. We are currently in 6th place but only the top 2 candidates will win. We need your help. Please take a few moments each day in August to cast your vote for us. You can vote up to three times a day…on line, on facebook and by texting from your cell phone. All the information you need is included in the flyer below.
