British Government Rules Christianity Is Not a Religion of Peace, Rejects Convert

The Home Office has rejected the asylum application of a Christian convert from Iran who said they had been drawn to the faith by its peaceful nature, due to a Government official ruling that Christianity is not peaceful.

The applicant indicated that they had converted to Christianity from Islam because of its peaceful nature, stating that “In Islam there is violence, rage and revenge. In Christianity in the contrary it is talking about peace, forgiveness and kindness.”

This earned the ire of the Home Office bureaucrat or bureaucrats charged with assessing the application, the Times reports.

The official cobbled together six passages from the King James Version and New Internation Version of the Old and New Testaments — such as Matthew 10:34, in which Christ proclaims he “came not to send peace, but a sword” — in an effort to prove that the applicant’s view of Christianity was wrong, and that Christian scripture is in fact “filled with imagery of revenge, destruction, death and violence”.

“These examples are inconsistent with your claim that you converted to Christianity after discovering it is a ‘peaceful’ religion, as opposed to Islam which contains violence, rage and revenge,” the rejection letter to the applicant admonishes passive-aggressively; an implicit ruling that Christianity is not peaceful — certainly not relative to Islam — and indeed is so clearly not peaceful that the Home Office does not consider perceived peacefulness a credible reason for conversion.

One word. Crusades. Think how many people have been killed under the convert or die crusade mentality. They would know.

11:46
What was the reason for the Crusades? I bet you don't even know. Open a Bible. Read the Commandments. Many of our laws are based on them. No where in the New Testament does it tell you to kill someone. Now open a quran. Look at all the places it tells you it is ok to kill someone.

This should set a precedence to either ban all christian churches in Great Britain or to reverse their decision and let the application pass and call Christianity a peaceful religion.

Lets see what backlash they get if they are forced to remove christian churches or change their decision on Christianity. If anything, they have opened the door to having to decide on what religions are peaceful and comparing them to others.

Death to all who do not embrace the teachings of Muhammad, or something like that.

I don't remember Jesus telling anyone to harm people. How is it not peaceful?

11:59 many of our laws are based in common sense as well. Something you religious types seem to lack. What is your opinion on the story of Lot? Lived in a city God was going to destroy, God sends an angel there which is almost raped so Lot instead sends his daughter out to be raped. God rewards the family by sparing them. Angel says dont look back, wife looks back and is turned to salt. Lots daughters then get him drunk in a cave, according to genesis, where they have sex with him without his consent.

This is an honest question, can you explain that to me?

So what you are saying is that our entire military is going to hell 11:59? It is a sin after all. So is adultery. Divorce. Greed. Lust. Now who do I know with all those attributes...

The Crusades was Christianity's answer to a Muslim Invasion of Europe and Jerusalem.

Easy. They are NOT following the teaching of Jesus.

11:59
You have never met met so how would you know?

12:26
Study the Bible first and come back to me. Know the difference in the New Testament and the Old Testament. Once you figure that out you will have your answer.

I think all 3 of the people above must be liberals. They seem to be the ONLY ones that find it ok to harm a child. They find no harm in letting old men marry little girls or slicing up their private parts. I guess since they feel killing an unborn child is ok what could be worse.

Sharia will come to Great Britain and it will lead the west to its doom.

Is Sharia a new pop star ?

Islam isn't a religion of peace either. I'm Muslim for the record. Islam is a religion of justice. Without justice there can be no peace. Peace in and of itself is not good unless the peace comes from a fair place. The people in North Korea were peaceful under the rule of Kim Jong Un. The world can be in peace if it agrees to live as slaves to the elite with no resistance.

the ignorance is apparent

Jesus was not a socialist

What Does the Bible Say About Socialism?
Throughout the scripture, from the first pages of Genesis, God gives men and women resources for their use — for their good and the good of others.
1 Timothy 5:8 says, "Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."
The responsibility was given to the individual, not delegated to the government.
Under capitalism, people own their property and businesses and are mostly free to use them as they see fit. But in today's politically correct environment a person's use of his or her own property is often mocked as selfish or greedy. Sadly, too many educators today undermine the confidence of our young people in our country's economic systems, insinuating that freedom to use the property isn't "fair" to those without.
Under socialism, people have limited ownership of property and businesses, which must operate under government control and regulation, and the government determines how all profits and property can be used. People who embrace the use of governmental power to suit their own social ends argue that this can create a kinder, gentler society as government decides who gets what, all in the name of helping the less fortunate. This assumes that good-hearted people, i.e. the government, are seizing the assets of less worthy people to give to the more deserving. And it matters WHO gets to decide the definition of "deserving." It sets up a system in which the government picks winners and losers, sometimes to gain the favor of voters.
Under communism, there is no veneer of personal ownership. The government owns and controls the property and the people exist as workers for the state, which controls all of their lives without pretense. In truth, it is the political leadership who control the power and property, and there is little access to opportunity for most people.
But in the Bible, God clearly gives resources to people and then holds them accountable for their stewardship.
"A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest — and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man." Proverbs 24:33-34
But for those whose work yields a profit, sharing with those in need is expected, and not something we can delegate to the government. The Apostle Paul was a great example of this, paying his own way as a tentmaker, and urging others to work to pay for themselves and others.
In Acts 20:35, Paul wrote, "In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
Socialism insinuates that the person who works is not deserving of the reward and breeds resentment against those who have success and it also weakens the connection between work and reward. Fundamentally, it violates the 10th commandment, "thou shalt not covet," by encouraging people to look at what others have, deciding what should be taken away. But to build lasting wealth and resources, labor is required.
As Christians, we are called to work to the best of our ability, to care for our families and those in need around us. Our work is one way that we communicate to the world around us what a life submitted to Christ can be. We want to honor God with our efforts.
Colossians 3:23 puts it well: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."

Jesus and His father hate sin. Accept him as your savior and try not to sin and you escape his wrath. its that simple..deny his word his salvation his truth youll suffer just like Soddom and Gomorrah suffered.LOT could find one rightous man in that town.. sounds like a few of them unrightous types are on here.

Romans 2:5-8 "because of your hard and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will repay each one according to his deeds.”a To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow wickedness, there will be wrath and anger."

I don't want, accept, nor need Jesus' forgiveness. Frankly, I'd rather burn in hell then call a Jew, God. Try reading the Talmud, the other book from his "people".

@12:40, Absolutely incorrect. A Muslim is never to lie. The only time a Muslim is permitted to do so is when revealing their faith would lead to them being killed.

If you are looking for a religion whos motto is war through deception throw on your anti-Semitic cap and start reading the Talmud.
