Federal employees step up defiance of Trump

Government employees are growing increasingly willing to criticize or defy the White House and President Trump’s top appointees.

A handful of current and former career staffers in the Interior Department and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have openly shredded their superiors within the last several weeks, continuing a trend that has developed throughout the government over the course of Trump’s tenure in the Oval Office.

The growing opposition in the executive branch comes as the White House’s legislative agenda has stalled in Congress and Trump turns to his Cabinet agencies to change course in several policy areas. It also is emanating from career staffers or political holdovers whose resistance to Trump has, at times, been rooted in deep opposition to the president’s agenda.

“From our point of view, it’s kind of obvious,” said Jeff Ruch, the executive director of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER), when asked about staffers’ growing pushback.

“You have Donald Trump, who ran and said he would drain the swamp, meaning them.”

“I think career staff don’t typically speak out publicly unless they feel like there are serious issues and problems going on within the agency,” said Liz Purchia, a former Obama administration EPA spokeswoman.

If they don't like PRESIDENT TRUMP's policies, they should quit or be fired. I hope the President does pump out these pieces of waste as he drains the septic tank !!!

The swamp creatures are whining.

It's a real easy problem to solve, if they can't be fired then do away with their job or re-assign them to a weather station in the antarctic.

Fire them, 75% of them are not needed anyway. Trump is making private sector jobs come back, so it's not like they'll be without work. They just won't be sucking the tit anymore and actually producing something!

Easy enough. Pink slip them. Millions of others would be glad to work for Trump. He doesn't need them.

I know plenty of Feds who love Trump. Dangerous to paint with a broad brush.

Why are they still there? There are ways to fire those who are disloyal and causing trouble on the job. Think about how long we would be employed if we made trouble for the boss! Federal employees should live by the same standards as we have to, including same health insurance forced on us.

Firing for Insubordination cuts the red tape. But a very large number of the president's appointees have yet to be confirmed and start work. In the interim the Obama loyalists are up to their tricks.

Wow. I went to sleep in the US and woke up in Russia. So what, we no longer have the right to disagree with the government and doing so costs you your livelihood?
Pretty sure If you check your history you'll find that's why the forefathers fled another country.
How easily you people will sell yourselves out for a free campaign hat.
