Historic Wisdom

"Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will. Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue till they have resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they suppress." —Frederick Douglass (1818-1895)

If those that tell us if only for their laws - were correct, then society would have less andx less need for them. Yet we are told that we need these people more andc more.

Ask any black teen who Frederick Douglass was and what he did and wait for the silence. This even though we have Black History month every year.

Douglass escaped from slavery in Maryland. Many of us wish that we could do the same.

Ask any white teen the same and you'll get the same response. Its not a race issue
