Car review panel on fact-finding mission after councilman’s DUI

The three-member panel charged with examining the Prince George's County policy that issues county-owned cars to council members met for the third time on Monday. But at least one resident called for the county to end the policy of giving county-owned cars to council members, saying they don't need them and questioning the cost. Resident has a good point....is there a "need" for taxpayer paid county cars to go home to council members?

The resounding answer should be NO, but will be interesting to see the outcome.

For certain, any council member who has a DUI in a county car should have that car taken away and never another one issued. Abuse the privilege and have the privilege removed, period - no second chances, no forgiveness.

It would probably be cheaper for the county not to give vehicles to council members at all, and have a mileage allowance for personal vehicles instead, but it's PG County, where history shows us that all too many elected officials are bandits, looking for every public (and charity) dollar they can steal.

If the clueless taxpayers dont stop them then its there OWN fault so i say let them be driven around in a limo until the county goes BROKE.

It's PG County. The constituents are impressed by someone driving a government car.
