First US City Set To See Complete Obamacare Collapse

Knoxville, Tenn., could be the first city in the U.S. where Obamacare completely collapses, leaving tens of thousands of people without the option to buy a subsidized insurance policy.

Humana, the city’s only remaining insurance provider on its Obamacare exchange, announced it is exiting the market in 2018. If that happens, Knoxville citizens will be in a rough spot. Unless another insurance provider fills Humana’s place, some 40,000 people in the Knoxville area will likely be left without the option to purchase an Obamacare-subsidized insurance policy, CNN reports.

Knoxville is illustrative of one of the main problems with Obamacare: It doesn’t promote market-based competition. Insurers pull out of marketplaces where it is not cost-efficient for them to provide services, and, as a result, consumers are left with fewer options at higher prices.

The real problem is the subsidies - it masks the actual costs.

Those that can afford real health insurance through their jobs aren't paying the OweBlamaCareLess rates and don't need the subsidies.

4:16 PM Another lie. Apparent you do not know economics. Prior to this disaster my policy was $500 a month. Now it is $1000 a month and I get NO subsidy.

The only thing the subsidy did was allow the big corporations to charge more whether they needed to or not. Because they could. Because the taxpayers were paying for it either way now. But now it was on the back end. Free money.

Maryland ALREADY had the no pre-existing clause. So tell me again why my policy doubled?

The subsidy was nothing more than a payout for the corporations.
Got that?

This is fake news: Obama promised that, if you like your doctor, you could keep your doctor. If you like your insurance, you could keep your insurance.
Don't tell me he lied to us!!

How can they blame it on Trump? Wait for it.

4:25 - you might need a better job - if you can get it! Those of us with professional type jobs (requiring degrees and certifications) did not see a doubling of our premiums. If this was employer provided insurance - your job screwed you - if it was not employer provided insurance than YOU are wrong!

This seriously sucks for a lot of people who don't have access to anything else. Many will be bankrupted, many will go without care.

Who still thinks their elected "leaders" are looking out for them?
"We, the people" now have insurance we can't afford to use, but are FORCED to pay for by the very people who are charged with looking out for us.
I don't know if we have enough rope to deal with each and every one of these backstabbing, bribe-taking, alcoholic, self-serving and self-important, pedophilic, payoff soliciting and payoff taking, back room double dealing, fat and lazy, arrogantly theiving basta**s.
Republicans control the entire chain of the legislative branch and despite 8 years of "We're going to do this!! and We're going to do that!", they have shown they are liars and manipulators unable (I say "unwilling") to accomplish anything except infighting and more partisan gridlock.
Remember when I told you they play this game on purpose?
It LOOKS like they are really trying hard, but the status quo has been determined and they are not about to change it too much ---it'a too lucrative for THEM.
Start hanging them.
