I have no doubt he is a nice man, and a great father, but his skills on predicting the weather are in question. I think he was be better suited as an instructor. I think he great knowledge, but is incompetent in using this knowledge.
His projected confidence is annoying.

No weather man is very accurate on the shore....The bays have a way of pushing things around us making it difficult to predict.
I reside in Salisbury and have never seen the dude. I hear people say "Dan said" and I reply "who is Dan?" I assume the reason I don't know him is I don't watch that station. I watched years ago and liked Steve Hammond. Was glad to see the cold fish Steve Summers exit.
They have been showing 3 different snow scenarios, I guess from 3 different weather models. They can't decide which one to pick as the accurate one.
12:45 It is great to finally read a comment on here saying "I don't watch WBOC" The majority get on here and trash Dan/WBOC for 100% wrong forecast. For the life of me I cannot figure out why anyone would waste time watching a station's weather forecast that they judge to be 100% wrong. These reader must have an IQ problem.

I watch it mainly for the entertainment value. I take his forecasts with a grain of salt. It's entertaining, because he gets it wrong so often. I compare his forecast with WMDT, and then check out Weather.com and Accuweather. All I can say is he tries. He means well, but he misses the mark. I know he and wboc read this blog. I also tune in to see him say, "I might get bitten in the ass" for this, or comments about "social media" criticisms. I'm sure he will be doing this this today. I'm sure he isn't smiling when he is reading these comments. Neither is management! Business decisions are made on accurate forecasts. If they can't trust WBOC for accuracy, they might loose advertisers.

Dan said all predictions are subject to change, he will nail the amount of snow when it over im shure.
