The flooding of late 2016 demonstrated to the Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Company that a new station at the north end of its response area is necessary. As a result, the company will present an informational session at the firehouse on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. to explain its perspective to residents.
“We’re going to be answering questions — we’ve received 20 letter this week in support of the effort, and asking questions about the proposal,” Chief Trey Heiser said.
Call volume to the company doubled during the flooding, while access to its response area was halved because of the washout at Snow Hill Road, which took about a month to reopen to traffic. The fire company used an unorthodox, but familiar, tactic for members to serve the area despite limited access.

If you live(or buy a home) in a rural area don't you knowingly make the trade off of a slower emergency response time? If you want a quick response time live in a town. Quit wasting taxpayer money.
It makes perfect sense to have a location on that side of town.
Makes no sense. They don't have that many fire calls in that area. The flood was a one hundred year event and would never have happened if the sha had fixed the culvert that caused the washout
But wait, Trey and Andrew have everything under control!!!! They, along with Jimmie "Mighty Mouse" Gladwell are Gods gift to the fire service. Just ask em
These comments make me puke. They are condemning a Volunteer Fire Company for attempting to serve their area responsibly and abide by the guidelines. Snow Hill and other Volunteer Fire Depts should get a lot more credit.
Then you support SFD not wanting to serve Wicomico County without holding the Tax Payer hostage. You allow SFD to waste money on equipment that is not needed but is a desire, a new building with a kitchen ant restaurant would love to have and they never use it. The only way SFD covers their area the way they do is because they waste fuel and vehicle expense is because they are always just riding around waiting for a call. This is done because of their poor positioning of equipment and management.
This is one of the many reasons I and my family left the shore....most of you people don't have a clue.....and that explains why jobs have left and no good ones are ever coming......you people have nobody to blame for the shores decline but yourselves......
Bismuth subsalicylate (some brand names: Kaopectate, Pepto-Bismol) may help treat some types of nausea and vomiting, such as from gastroenteritis (also called “stomach flu”). It's also used for upset stomach and as an antidiarrheal (medicine to treat diarrhea).
There's some help for your puking
Thank you for your comments Trey Dawg
CHIEF Trey has no time for such foolishness. He is too busy planning another photo shoot, in his pearly white bunker coat and helmet, that he can post on Facebook. Here is a tip Trey, make sure the reflective portion of your bunker coat and helmet are exposed. If not, your gear will blend in with the perfectly white snow. Also, try fighting some fire or let someone, who isn't scared, wear your gear to dirty it up. You'll have more credibility and at least LOOK like a fire fighter.
Why are you bringing Salisbury into this? What do they have to do with Snow Hill wanting another fire station?
Thank you for leaving. You should taken some more people with you.
Because, even you have to admit, Gladwell is a TOOL.
Here's what they need.........A FIRE BOAT! Just ask Salisbury about there $1,000,000.00 piece of junk!
2:21 AMEN!!
How about a fire ferry boat? That way, they get a frivolous grant and a
get a way to get the fire trucks across the river without building another station!
Or, hey, let's give them a helicopter big enough to lift all the far trucks across the ribber, LOL!
You seem very bitter. Are you jealous? Your momma must be very proud.
Yes, I am jealous. I'm jealous that he gets extra money spent on him for his booster seat for the engine. That money could be spent elsewhere.
Prayers for all you little boys making these nasty comments. I feel sorry for you.
What, to hire you? Hee Hee
What, to hire you? Lol
Funny, Gladwell hasn't rode on the engine in years
