On Wednesday, President Obama added another prestigious medal to his Nobel Prize collection when he had Defense Secretary Ash Carter award him with the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service.
Secretary Carter awarded his boss with the medal on January 4 during the Armed Forces Full Honor Farewell Review for the President held at Conmy Hall, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Virginia.
Carter insisted that the medal was a token of appreciation for Obama’s service as commander in chief, the Associated Press reported.

Legend in his own Mind
Commander in chief?
What a frickin' joke.
Traitor in chief more like.
that is what Communists do
A medal is reserved for the best of the best. This president should have just gotten a letter.
really?
this guy is so in love with himself
unbelievable
What arrogance! And what a joke! This move diminishes the importance of this prestigious award toward our true leaders and heroes of our defense.
Hey Obama if your listening.....you can award yourself all kinds of medals but THE PEOPLE know you are a failure.
Some notable previous awardees:
George W. Bush
Ashton Carter]
Bill Clinton
Kristin Krohn Devold
Steven Spielberg
Henry Kissinger
Obama should get a medal for TREASON.
Awarded himself????? Unstinking believable ...participation medal
For a man who publicly has such disdain for the military, how is this even possible? The citation must be a work of art.
Apparently he also awarded himself US citizenship.
From a Peace Prize that was not deserved to this award, Obama has been a joke as president!
How embarrassing. This award is like baking your own birthday cake, signing your own card, buying your own gift to you, and throwing a party that no one shows up for. I heard the ceremony was poorly attended which says it all.
Recipients of the medal are nominated by the Department of Defense and approved by the Secretary of Defense. So no, he didn't actually award himself a medal. You would all know this if you would actually do a little research
As a Veteran this makes me sick!
Damn, wasn't he worried another case of work place violence might break out?
A medal? A letter? How about a self-written note on a Post-It instead.
Looks like something the Board of education would do during the graduation ceremonies. Give themselves self congratulations before handing out the diplomas for those who truly deserved it. Nothing more disgusting that a blow hard public official!
