WCSO Adds Two Motorcycles To The Patrol Force

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce the addition of two 2017 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Police Motorcycles to the patrol force. These much needed motorcycles will be utilized to augment resources during the many parades, wounded warrior events, 5k races, funeral services, and the many other community events which demand the resources of our Sheriff's Office.

Those deputies operating these bikes recently received specialized training in their operation and will be expected to enforce motor-vehicles laws and make criminal apprehensions while providing the citizens of Wicomico County with a highly visible presence.
The costs associated with the acquisition of these bikes were covered with monies seized from local drug dealers coming into or through Wicomico County.

If you see these motors out on the roadway, please give them a thumbs up!

Really, they need motorcycles now? what a damn waste of money... Especially when they ask us to help them do their job in finding people for them, and they get paid by our tax dollars...

Anonymous said...

Why not use that money to help victims of crimes and/or crime prevention? Toys for the tiny tot sheriff.

Anonymous said...

And who will be riding these bad boys?

As I once again endure the annual struggle to pay my huge property taxes, I'm so happy to see that you clowns are, as always, buying the most expensive crap that money can buy. I guess bicycles just wouldn't be macho enough, right?

Did we just hire Ponch and Jon?

What MIKEY wants MIKEY gets

Anonymous said...

Where are the side cars?
We need them.

Great idea!!!...

Sorry Cry Babies.....
Great job Mike Lewis
Keep it up .

Anonymous said...

Long overdue.

FYI it wasn't spent with tax money. Try drug money.

Anonymous said...

These two bikes probably cost roughly 50K. This just proves that the dept has more money than they know what to do with. How about cutting the budget and giving the tax payers a little relief.

Anonymous said...

OK so it was drug money, that money should go into the operating budget. Pay some overtime with it instead of buying toys.

Anonymous said...

Bob Culver it's time to cut Lewis's budget this is to much.

@4:15-4:16 you must be MIKEY wanna b's!! Yea this county really needs two brand new top line Harley davidson. Try about 80,000 for the pair, this particular model is i the upper 30,000 range without all the little gadgets. How about using that money to take back control of our public school system with added officer presence as a deterrent. Or maybe added patrols to offset all the recent armed robberies!! We have to look cool to impress our fellow police communities especially during bike week, LMAO

Anonymous said...

50 k each

Anonymous said...

Workers comp premiums will increase for the county. Mr. Culver you need to have HR check on this one.

Man! Thats the new engine too! Almost 100 hp on 2 wheels!

Boy, I would love to twist and shout that badboy.

Anonymous said...

Both passed me halfway between Laurel and Delmar yesterday on 13 going north.

Anonymous said...

They come with two saddle bags and one douche bag standard.

Anonymous said...

FIFTY THOUS EACH????????

What was the justification/need?

Anonymous said...

Don't forget to Armor-all the entire tire....

Anonymous said...

Matter of fact, how about taking that money and applying to child support for their kids so tax payers wont have to foot the bill or monies to victims, or vleaning up neighborhoods or paying people to rid neighborhoods of junkies and dealers alike... Sounds & looks like some gangster shake down.... more busts mean more cop toys

2017 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic Prices (MSRP):

$24,149 (Vivid Black)
$24,749 (Billet Silver)
$25,199 (Billet Silver/Vivid Black; Mysterious Red Sunglo/Velocity Red Sunglo; Crushed Ice Pearl/Frosted Teal Pearl)

Yep but that is before all the add-ons, radios, lights, sirens, lettering etc. Armor-all for the seat and tires.

Anonymous said...

Motorcycles can go where cars can't....they are notorious for slipping between and around cars on the road when fleeing! I think this was a wise choice considering all the idiot crotch rocket riders that innundate our roads on nice days! Spend some of the drug money on tools to apprehend criminals. Throwing money at schools, bad neighborhoods and blight is NOT going to fix them. Supporting your LEOs and getting involved in your community and with your kids is the cornerstone of change.

Anonymous said...

Are you for real? They ask for our assistance because WE are everywhere and they can't be everywhere! Nothing travels faster than social media and it helps get criminals off the streets faster. You could not do YOUR job alone...period. No one can. There are always people in the periphery that must provide you with some tool, part, computer, or transportation to get to your job. This diatribe against LEO is getting old.

Its all for the taxpayer and joe public to view on the county website for the cost of any county purchases nothing hidden from anyone.

As a Harley owner, I hope you are not insinuating a touring bike like police use will compare to the performance of a crotch rocket. A crotch rocket will leave them standing and return to tease them.

If any of you pay any attention at all, MANY law enforcement departments across the country have motorcycles - some have entire units. Some of you are never satisfied...our LEOs are either too lame, too agressive, don't keep up with the times or on the flip side, have unnecessary equipment....the chronic whining about them never ends. Would you put your life on the line for strangers? I doubt it. It is just easier to sit on your sofa and write negative things on the blog.

Buying equipment with drug money costs the taxpayer nothing. Get over it!

Anonymous said...

Can Mikes feet touch the pedals ? Or will he pull out the BLOCKS.

Anonymous said...

Remember it's not if but when- be safe on those bikes.

Anonymous said...

8:20 very few departments the size of WCSO have motor units. Save it these were purchased by Mike because he likes anything that shines. Lewis likes anything that says look at me. He was obviously picked on most of his life about his stature. Oh well the money is spent. Be safe out out there.

Anonymous said...

Lol

Anonymous said...

8:20 Using that rational they could have bought a sheriff's Scarab go fast boat, you know for the boat parades and going to Brew and Bull Lips after chasing drug runners on the Wicomico.

Anonymous said...

Like to ride one of these super smotth ,quite fast, very little wind

Anonymous said...

Mike LEWIS has it made!! Brand new black chevy Tahoe to ride around in, brand new Harley to ride whenever he want and 100,000 plus a year and any speaking fees plus state police pension. And the people in the streets are the "crooks"

Anonymous said...

Sounds like a lot of jealousy to me.

Anonymous said...

Jealous?? Are you serious I think it's more like fed up and disgusted.

Anonymous said...

Thats y the street cops hate him FACT.

Anonymous said...

Is that you little mike ?.

Anonymous said...

Y not mopeds.

Anonymous said...

Here's an idea MIKEY what happened to all the little substations in the high crime areas?? We could have bought a whole fleet of segways or bicycles and posted them up at every location and actually rid the county of crime. Tgere ARE a lot of other police agencies that utilize segways and bicycles. LMAO 2 brand new 2017 ultra classic for WCSO. I bet ol Mikey has been sending some personal pictures to LEO buddies up the road bragging about this

Anonymous said...

HELL YEA I'm jealous. How can I get the taxpayers to buy into the idea of letting me use supposed drug seizure money to buy my little toys for me.

Anonymous said...

All the weed he smoked in high school stunted his growth. Look at the yearbook and ask some classmates.

Anonymous said...

These toys were bought with seized money, not tax dollars. Ask you can plainly see there is no incentive for LEO to use any means possible to stop and interrogate every driver they can. He looked nervous or the dog sat down now, search the vehicle. Why do you have this mush cash? We are going to seize it until YOU prove it is yours and how you got it.

Anonymous said...

I love it! Great job!

Anonymous said...

When did motorcycles come with pedals? These are not mopeds

December 26, 2016 at 10:52 PM

Why doesn't that seized drug money go back to the County Coffers to help pay back the cost of running that department of wasteful spending? Why doesn't the county council reel in that money?

Anonymous said...

EVERYONE- keep in mind MSRP does NOT equal price paid under a government contract. And if you buy things at MSRP, you are MORONS. All prices are negotiable. I have never paid MSRP on jewelry, vehicles, or the "asking price" of real estate/ property". Duh.

Anonymous said...

we could have used that money to build prayer rooms for pres osamas brothers

Funny how the ass kisser keep smooching Mike's ass. There are some true suck ups on the West Wing. The deputies really do not like the man. It has to be one of the most divided departments on the shore. Mike is a an ultra narcissist. The man needs help. He has never met a camera or mirror he did not love.
