INNOCENT! After 21 Years In Prison For ‘Raping’ 13 Yr-Old Girl, Cop is RELEASED After Victim Admits She LIED…

In a life changing turn of events for former Fort Worth, TX police officer, Brian Franklin, he has been exonerated of the rape of a 13 year-old girl, of which he was convicted in 1995 and has served 21 years of a life sentence. The verdict came at the end of a new trial that ended Friday. The new trial was based on the fact that the alleged victim, now in her 30’s, revealed that she had lied and he never raped her.

It was her stepfather who had actually been sexually assaulting her for years, including during the trial, but she was too afraid to testify to that because he was constantly present in the court room. So, based on her lie, and the fact that the jury gave more weight to the testimony of the girl than to the physical evidence, of which there was none, a man was wrongly imprisoned for 21 years. Clearly, it cannot simply be assumed that the alleged victim is telling the truth, it must be proven. 21 years in jail for a crime you didn’t commit is a long, long time.

I agree with you.

I cannot imagine how this poor man must feel about his stolen life.
Rage comes to mind.

I agree when you falsly accuse someone you should serve the same amount of time.

I think a life sentence should be applicable in this type of case. People need real consequences for this type of crime.

Tell that to all the bad cops who are trying to ruin other peoples lives for no reason, or to be a bully or because he was abused as a kid or what ever their f'ing reason is... Who cares, NOT a single cop goes to jail for anything anymore so who gives a shit about this cop... Now he knows what some of the regular people have to deal with, then they being cops actively try to ruin you life all because they are following orders or just doing the job or to give them a raise... And you people call cops hero's, which is laughable... IF you are a hero, you don't actively try to put an innocent man in jail like today's cops do, 10 cops stand in a circle talking how to put a videographer in jail or fine them, all becasue cops don't like to be video tapped, yet they are tracking you 24/7... Yep real hero's cops are...

He would have been retired from the department by now and possibly working on a second career. She stole not only that but his ability to have a decent social security check when he reaches retirement age. She stole from him his ability to gain employment with another department as well. No matter how you slice it, it sucks!!!

I wish the officer well with the rest of his life and I hope that the woman is punished for lying so badly about him.

what she did was wrong no doubt, but how many times had this cop, among others, lied and ruined someone's life?

Bye Felicia!
Do the crime (i.e., liar)
Do the time (i.e., 3 hots and a cot).

Next case!

Put the step father in prison.
"But for" his actions and presence, the cop would have walked (and the step-father does the stretch).
Just don't blame a 13 year old terrified and abused kid.
There's a good reason why kids aren't held to the standards an adult is.....

Only problem with your theory is she was only 13 at the time. While I do think she should go to jail, a life sentence is a bit steep for a 13 year old liar.

You are a troubled sole and because of your experiences blame cops for protecting us citizens from the likes of you. If I were a cop, I'd charge you with something you are guilty of (easy to find) for spreading your lame view of life.

11:19 Awe, poor snowflake. I hope you get bubble bath and a nice blanket for Christmas.

You, busy cheerleading and all, are apparently completely clueless to the fact that thousands of people have been found INNOCENT of crimes the POLICE swore they did -- testified falsely, submitted false reports, planted evidence (they just KNEW he was guilty), and omitted/destroyed evidence. Many of these people did YEARS in prison, surviving an environment that YOU wouldn't last 30 minutes in....
But NOW, since it's a cop, everyone is up in arms with sympathy and vigilante calls for this 13 year old girl's (NOT a "woman", as 10:46 blithely observes) imprisonment. Too bad none of you were so concerned for all the rest of the citizen's the POLICE put in prison wrongly.
oh. They were mostly black, so they got what they deserved, right??
You don't think the police ENJOY "teaching citizens lessons"????
Let's see......obstruction of justice, disturbing the peace, hindering a police officer, failure to obey a command, etc....ALL used by the police to teach people how much lawyers cost and why no one should ever say anything mean to people who are supposedly trained to remain calm and composed.
Don't confuse reality with a "lame view of life".

It was funny to read, so thanks.

305, time to wake up. Some officers may have ill intent but most officers have their head on straight and do the right thing. Don't like some of the laws- not the officers fault- complain to those who are tasked with passing them!! Bottom line- sometimes people need to go to jail- maybe you'll have a situation happen to you one day and if all laws are reversed that you don't like- you'll see how useful some laws really are.... good ahead and twist this around..... have fun!!

Cops do not protect anyone from anyone except themselves, nor do they have an obligation or duty to protect anyone.

People put cops on such a pedestal and have no clue what their mission is. And then try to claim cops have such a dangerous job. More crap. Cops don't even make the top ten most dangerous jobs.

They are muscle for the government, period. They keep people in line and keep the money flowing to their bosses. All these people they kill each and every year and get away with it. Thousands every year. Heck, they don't even know how many they kill. And how many cops do you hear of that go to prison for any of it? A handful.

They are sanctioned killers and bullies. But don't take my word for it. If you're reading this, you have access to the internet. Do a search. See what the Supreme Court has to say about "their duty to protect" any of you.

Face reality for once in your lives and stop believing the lies they tell you.

I don't need to twist anything.....I notice you didn't try to refute the facts.
THOUSANDS of people have been imprisoned based on false police testimony and evidence. That's a LOT of lying cops.
Thank God for cell phone camera's. What used to be open and shut cases of cops "defending themselves" from extremely fearful situations are now revealed to be cops shooting people in the back, cops shooting little kids, cops killing the wrong person, cops shooting in a crowded public venue (remember the cops in Salisbury opening fire in the middle of town with RIFLES???), and cops shooting at people who merely "scared" them.
Lastly, all those "good" cops?
Where were they when their fellow officers beat people in handcuffs, slapped kids, body slammed old ladies into concrete, punched suspects while 4 other cops held him down, and various other crimes that are only crimes if you are not wearing a badge?
Having fun yet?

keep cheerleading.

Are children who make accusations like that given a lie detector test and a voice stress test?

Very typical of our Court System....what ever a woman says is the truth....I see this often, and the Key Stone Cops AKA WICOMIC COUNTY SHERIFF...run around and harass innocent men....Hey Mike Lewis.....you are going to get your ass sued off....if you do not train your overzealous CADET Deputies...they violate our Constitution regularly

She needs to be incarcerated for at least 21 years.
