A Touch Of Italy In Ocean City

So you're wondering where you can get a really great Italian food experience on the Shore, here it is.

Located in the Holiday Inn in Ocean City, I was blown away with not only the atmosphere, the food was to die for. So you know, these are over sized plates and I had the veal parm, which had two huge pieces of veal. The sauce was authentic and the service perfect.

Mind you, it is the off season, so we were seated immediately and our food came out in no time. I can honestly say I could not find one flaw in this business.

You may want to call in advance and ask for their specials. They have a chicken parm special I believe on Sunday night, (but I could be wrong).

Finally, if you like an Italian food Deli, they have one right there as you enter from the parking lot.

Their food is awesome. I especially love their chicken parm and their pizza. This is one of the few decent restaurants in Ocean City. They do have some inconsistent service issues especially in the summer so we mostly go in the off season. Ocean City is lucky to have a restaurant like this. Their carry out/deli is fantastic too!

This place is a gem for all transplanted Italians. They have a Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and {recently} Bethany Beach location. Their sausage is from the Bronx. The cookies, cakes and pastries are authentic. They have a cannoli cake (in various sizes) is to die for. You can order for special occasions. It is expensive but well worth it. During the off season they have specials that make it affordable. I love this place!

I love veal, but the only place I could find this was at Fratelli's. Thanks for letting us know about this place! I love Italian food!!!!

That Cannoli cake is an 11 on a scale of 1-10

have any of you ever been to italy? No matter where, I find most of the italian restaurants in the states are nothing like what you get in italy!

Glad to read these nice comments because we went to the bake shop in Lewes & purchased baked goods......they were horrible.....tasted like some kind of chemical.

826-Just like if you go to China, you're not going to find General Tso's on a menu. In America, we prefer Italian American food.

8:26, There are some very good and very bad Italian/American restaurants. I found most of the ones I liked the best in New Jersey and run/owned by Greeks.

When it comes to the Eastern Shore, 95% of the so called Italian restaurants SUCK. Just because you pour tomato sauce on food from Sysco doesn't make it Italian food.

For those who have not been to Italy, yes, the food here is very different. However, if you want to get close, go to this restaurant. As for Fratelli's, PLLLLEASE! Give me a break.

Alfredo's pizza gallery in Seaford is the best.

Joe, I will take your advice. I'm not Italian, but I love good food.
I like Fratelli's mainly for the crab cakes, but I was glad they served Veal on their menu. The Olive garden will not serve this due to political correctness. I agree we need better restaurants. I like German food as well, and usually visit the Schmankerl Strube Bavarian Restaurant in Hagerstown. The food is as good as the food my grandmother used to make. My brother in law who was stationed in Germany told me it is just like being in Germany at one of their restaurants! Even the beer on Tap is German and very reasonable. I would also love to see a good German restaurant here on the shore.

I hope they don't have issues with cleanliness like they do in real Italy. I was there in 1945 and there were rats and cockroaches everywhere!

I am with Joe on Fratelli's, some of the worst Italian/American I have ever had.

I think Fratelli's has really gone downhill since moving to Snow Hill Rd.

Stationed there for 4 years, I agree it's not easy but they are out there

La Roma was the best in area. Sorry to see vinny retire. Locals mostly enjoy Olive Garden.
