To be a write-in candidate for the March 15 primary, contenders were required to file a declaration of intent with Ohio’s elections chief by 4 p.m. Monday.
A spokesman for Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted (HYOO’-sted) tells The Associated Press that O’Malley missed the deadline. Husted’s office says it received the former Maryland governor’s paperwork at about 8 a.m. Tuesday. There is no appeals process under Ohio law.

The presidential campaign of Democrat Martin O’Malley suffered another setback on Thursday when the Ohio secretary of state announced that he had failed to qualify for the state’s March 15 primary.

We posted a story on December 31st about him failing to qualify for the ballot. This has to do with him missing a deadline to be a write in. Keep up!
