O’Malley to roll out 7 proposed anti-gun violence executive actions Tuesday

MANCHESTER, N.H. —Democratic presidential candidate and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley on Tuesday will roll out seven executive actions – including ending gun dealer immunity – he says he would take to curb gun violence if elected.

The plan was obtained by WBAL-TV 11 News' sister station WMUR ahead of its formal unveiling by O'Malley at a Tuesday night “Gun Safety Actions Not Words Town Hall” at the Cheshire County Historical Society in Keene, N.H. O’Malley will also discuss the plan at town halls at the Devine Millimet Branch law firm in Manchester and the University of New Hampshire in Durham earlier in the day.

O’Malley joins Democratic presidential opponent Hillary Clinton in promising to include unilateral executive actions in their anti-gun violence agendas, including ending gun dealer immunity from lawsuits.

But O’Malley’s campaign is calling his plan “the boldest plan” on the issue. The campaign says that as Maryland’s governor he was responsible for signing into law “the most comprehensive gun safety legislation in the nation.”

O’Malley’s plan calls for:

His laws in Maryland are working well in Baltimore. This guy needs to get into the real world. Whatever he is smoking, I want some.

His methods don't seem to be working in Baltimore. What he can't think of is LESS TAXING, MORE MONEY INTO THE ECONOMY, create JOBS and productive people. People with jobs do not tend to shot each other as much as those without jobs and hope of a future.

Once again laws that only affect the ones that obey the law already. In the end only the government and the criminals will be able to get guns.

Other than being ineffective, His gun laws in Maryland were so poorly written that it made it EASIER to purchase assault rifles! Prior to his legislation to purchase an assault rifle, such as an AR-15, you would have to go through the federal and state background checks and have a seven day "waiting period" prior to the taking delivery of any regulated firearm (ie: handguns and assault rifles) - not anymore. After his legislation you still have to go through the same thing TWICE to buy a regulated firearm! You need your HQL (handgun qualification license) in order to be "allowed" to apply to purchase a regulated firearm. The only extra procedure is the electronic fingerprinting required for your HQL. Other than that, applying to get a firearm and applying to get your HQL is EXACTLY the same, yet you still have to fill out the same old application to purchase a regulated firearm each time you go to purchase. It created mayhem at the MSP firearm division with HQL applications and cost tax payers MILLIONS for MSP to get caught up. A simple solution would be to say, "Hey, next time you go to buy a gun, we want your finger prints." BOOM, I just save the State millions and didn't completely piss everybody off.

Anyway, back to my point, flaws in the legislation:
1-Unnecessary redundancy - essentially aimed at reducing the transfer of firearms via paperwork and procedure; however, more firearms were sold in MD the year that this legislation passed than any other year.
2-AR-15 assault rifles are now easier to purchase. They "banned" the firearm, but in the details of the legislation, long guns marked "HBAR" or heavy barrel are considered non-regulated firearms. Thus AR-15 rifles marked as such can be purchased just like a rifle or shotgun - no state background check, no waiting period... just get cleared through NICS and you're walking out with your AR-15 that day. It is now EASIER To buy an AR-15. I took advantage of this, thank you very much Marty!
3-The HQL requires firearm safety training. I was able to use my Hunter Safety course to fulfill this requirement. Said course has NOTHING to do with handgun safety and all you need to do to pass is shoot a 1' x 1' box from about 10' with some bird shot. You get 2 shots to. So apparently Marty thinks that taking two shots and learning about HUNTER safety is enough education to deem a person fit to purchase a handgun. Hmmm...

These idiots are so stupid that they can't even make up regulations to properly fit their agenda! They failed on so many levels and ask the people in Baltimore if it has made a difference... If this guy is our next president I'm moving to Canada!

Is Martin running for "Chief Circus Clown?" Because that's the only place he belongs. How do idiots like him even get a place in our government? This jerk acts like he's doing the public a service while working diligently to pursue his own personal agenda without regard for the very people he serves. Not only is he a hypocrite, he's also one of the worst politicians I've ever seen ! No love lost here in seeing you gone Martin ! More useless legislation from a useless politician. Looks like the only way he's getting ahead further in politics is by kissing up to Hillary. How pathetic to promote anti-gun legislation at a time when people all over Europe are rushing to find guns for their own protection !

Let's slow down a minute. The Dems are saying that, because MD has a revenue SURPLUS, revenue to Union teacher initiatives should be restored/maintained. I say that the PREVIOUS administration collected TOO MANY taxes and that they should be given back to residents. Is this illegal?

Pass all the gun laws your pansie aces think will fix the "problem". Sooner or later you'll need to get down to the business of COLLECTING guns.
We are not England or Australia.
And you pansie sissies who are afraid of the dark and like to wear women's clothes and are just SO afraid of guns? Why don't YOU come on over and take MINE?
Kiss your family goodbye first, though, because YOU ain't coming back home. And there are literally MILLIONS of men who think the same way.
Don't like the Constitution?
Need someone else to tell you how to live, what to do, where and when you can go anywhere, what to eat, how to dress, and what to think and say?
Go to Europe. Maybe Australia. North Korea might be nice and China is pretty this time of year.
Just PLEASE--- get the hell out of the USA!

Not even the people in his own state liked most of his policies. The man has lost his mind.

Why won't he just go away. I can't stand to even look at him anymore. Maybe we can get him to move to another country that doesn't have guns so he will be happy.
