There's Been 160 Votes Cast Out Of 2,800 In District 3 So Far

It never ceases to amaze me just how screwed up Salisbury is.

Your local Media tells you only a very small percentage of registered voters showed up at the polls each election and for the past 14 years, (that I know of) the citizens of Salisbury just think, well, why vote, nobody else does.

Well guess what Folks, that's just not true. If they cleaned up the registered voter list, (which they haven't done in 14 years) you'd probably find that at least 60 to 70% of those people who are actually alive and who actually live at that address actually voted in Salisbury.

So why won't they purge the voter registration list, because the Liberals want to discourage you and make you feel like it won't matter anyway.

So you people just continue to act UN AMERICAN and keep falling for their crap. The next thing we know Hillary will be the next President and you'll have your hands out begging for food and a place to live. Who knows, maybe if you talk nice about Jim Ireton and Jake Day they'll actually allow you to live in one of the thousands of run down section 8 homes of the future in Camden.

Now get off your rear ends and vote for Tim Spies in District 3. 160 votes so far, what's wrong with you people!

On my way to vote for Tim! Cant believe so few people have voted today on such a nice weather day!

Anxious to celebrate Tim's victory later today....

No one cares anymore, just shut out the lights when the last family leaves Salumsbury.

Maybe people are working, and they (like me) plan to vote when they get off work. Polls don't close until 7, and not everyone has the luxury of being able to leave to go vote mid-day.

WOW, I can't remember the last time I rejected so many comments on one post. It seems I've hit a nerve on the voter registration list. I guess the big secret is now out.

There is so much that voters don't know. For instance, you don't have to vote for Jake Day just because he's the only candidate. You can not check the box and just vote for council if you don't want him to feel like he was your best candidate. You can write in the name of someone you wish was on the ballot too. What bothers me about Day and Heath is the PAC money. PAC money is money used to promote campaigns that is not reported on campaign finance reports and voters will never know who was behind it. It's just wrong to accept that kind of "help" in a campaign as far as I'm concerned. A candidate could tell them "no thanks" contribute and be transparent, or never mind." Tim Spies ram a grassroots campaign and has always been transparent and above board. I suspect those glossy mailers sent by the PAC for Heath in this election and Day for the previous one when he was running opposed are worth thousands of dollars. Is that the special interest and lack of transparency we really want in Salisbury government...or anywhere else in our electoral process. Heath and Day are probably perfectly nice guys, but I think they took the low road with PACs. It sure makes it easier to win when all of that faceless money is flowing in.

But watch out for tomorrow. They will ALL cry about who won or lost but to bothered to vote. That isn't even 5% of the voters .WOW.

Purge the inaccuracies from the voter roles and the percentage will be much higher.

2:36 I thought the same thing. So actually it is a better turn out than what it looks.

Maybe they're only counting those for voted for Jimbo. He did almost no campaigning, so he must know the fix is in again. I thought we were going back to paper ballots.

I went and voted today even though it didn't and won't matter... I'm in district 5 so I got the pleasure or writing in my own name next to Laura Mitchell and Jake Day. Honestly, I might actually have a chance of winning district 5 being that NOBODY was at the poll!

After dark, the dead zombie democrats will come out to vote.

So, when do we get the announcement that General Jake Day is the Mayor?

2:25, you said it! I have no respect for either man because of the PAC money. They could be saints otherwise, but I would not vote for them.

I voted today and I was the only one in there voting. There was some excitement outside of the polling place when a sheriff's deputy came to arrest a SU student for having pot and other drugs in his car.

I agree with 2:25 P M Day and Heath birds of the same feather both are sell out candidates willing to accept outside money and rollover on their voting. I don't trust either of them and they both have proven me correct over and over again.

It really isn't a better turnout than it looks when you consider that every elected seat is up for grabs at the same time.

When it was just the 3 council seats in the old Dist. 2, you saw more turnout than this.

I wish the write-in person above had organized about 25 people to write him or her in. Might well beat Mitchell with that few.

Roger has beaten Jimbo

Proud to claim one of those 160 votes for Mr. Spies. So Sorry he didn't win. But he didn't lose. Our once fair city did.
