A Letter To The Editor: Flags

Joe

I have been riding around today and it truly amazes me on how many businesses DO NOT have the flags at half staff out of respect of the people that lost there lives on 9/11. What is this country coming to!!!

OMG! Not everyone has the mindset when getting up to go to work in the morning to remember to lower the flag. We all lived through that tragic ordeal and understand the lives that were lost. I think the country is just fine on that aspect.

I am glad to see so many flags flying, they don't have to be half staff. I put my flag out of respect and don't have the ability to make it half staff. Guess you are just looking for something to complain about.

Maybe I should take mine down all together to make you happy.

It's probably about the same amount of people who don't keep it illuminated at night, or bring it in during a storm.

Is it a half-staff day? I haven't seen an order from the President or the Governor.

Yes they are at half-staff day. The Maryland flag is at half-staff in honor of Delegate Protcor. The American Flag is at half-staff for 9/11

Probably the same people who fly their Maryland flags upside down

This whining about following this rule and that rule is why I leave the flag flying to others. You can see lots of "official" violations and none of them mean the flyers hearts is not in the right place.

The way I see it is if you are going to fly the flag then do it right. This is the problem with too many people. They do things only half way instead of taking the time to do things properly.
