Anne Arundel County police believe the jail guards had intent to provide the illegal contraband to inmates.
They recovered loose tobacco, cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, fast food, lighters, matches, an electronic cigarette and a cell phone and accessories during the investigation.

i can almost wager it was a typo, Kenyatta cannot be a woman. impossible
WOW! after 17 years??? what were they thinking? really? How stupid can one be? Now they'll hope one of their friends will smuggle something in to them. Unbelievable!!!
told ya the guards are as bad, or worse, than the inmates.
Be careful on being critical of others. This is an ongoing problem at ECI and Popular Hill. The only difference is they left at ones in the Administration. Starting at the highest level. I know been there and seen it for over 29 years.
Retiree 3:21pm.,I been there too and it was the only reason I left after many yrs. of service. Administration sucks. It was time when they were held accountable for their actions. Not anymore staff suffers. They get their positions and stay way too long. The Wardens had 3 yr. stay and were moved at the end of 3.
Some months ago Sby News posted a story about another guard at the same facility.Misconduct of course.Just give them a little authority and they go crazy.

It is all about the money. Once they compromise their honesty they are blackmailed and it is just a matter of time until they are set up and caught.
Very few got setup if they did they were used to do more. They never loss their jobs unless they refused to join the "GOOD OLE BOYS". They were promoted and protected till they could or wanted to retire.
so they get cable free, 3 hots and a cot, gyms, free legal advice, but can't have cigarettes..you dumb asses in charge bring this crap on yourselves..creating an un needed black-market! Even E-cigs? really ?
I guess the thought they were smart and wouldn't get caught. I guess they were wrong. They just ruined their life to make a quick buck.

If they have money to afford those things they can start paying rent. Maybe that is what they should do. You can have the privilege of those things if you are working and making money to pay your own way while in prison!
