STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING IN FREDERICK COUNTY

(Walkersville, MD) - Maryland State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred last night in Frederick County.

The victim is identified as Gerald Campbell, 42, of Frederick. He was transported by medevac to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where he is being treated for his injuries.

The suspect has been identified as a tall, thin, African American man with facial hair. He was reportedly wearing a mask at the time of the incident.

At 9:30 p.m. last night, a 9-1-1 call was received from a witness in the area who reported the shooting. Allegedly the incident occurred behind a retail store in the 8000 block of Woodsboro Pike in Walkersville.
