Escaped Inmate

On 12-16-14 the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office investigated an inmate escape from the County Landfill while on work release. The inmate, William Clyde Conley of Queen Annes County stole a county 2009 Ford Pickup from the Landfill while on work release, and was later apprehended in Centerville by the Maryland State Police Apprehension Team without incident. The stolen pickup truck was also recovered near buy. See attached inmate photo.

William Clyde Conley 22 years of age

Additional charges include Theft of motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft scheme, and second degree escape, Conley was held at the Somerset County Detention Center without bond.

THIS SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. THE INMATE WAS BEING HELD FOR CAROLINE COUNTY UNDER A DETAINER. HE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN LET OUTSIDE THE DETENTION CENTION. HAPPY THAT NOBODY WAS HURT THE TIME HE WAS OUT. NO ONE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE GOOD OLD BOY SYSTEM IS STILL WORKING.

Will someone explain to us how inmates just walk out of prisons and work release programs? This just seems to happen everywhere and sometimes it ends in tragedy for citizens of those towns. Can we not install something on the inmates that cannot be removed a microchip or something?

I dont know why he just did not run into the woods. Sasqautch would have thought it was one of his kids and took him in. Dumberset County
