SAFER Grant paid firemen

From the Far Cheef's newsletter

"the department has continued to look for ways to extend the performance period for these 12 positions."

Don't worry I just found a way.

8 positions
Admin Office Staff
Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Assistant Chief/Administration, Training Acting Lieutenant, Captain/EMS, Lieutenant/Inspections, Lieutenant/Maintenance, Lieutenant/Supply(Logistics)

4 positions
Operations
4 assistant chiefs on a "Command" SUV

A little top heavy aren't they!

There you go I just found the 12 positions you were looking for.

In reality that is a lot of wasted man power for a small fire department that really should be mostly all volunteer.

Those 12 positions just described could staff 4 fire engines with minimum staffing of 3 per fire engine.

Those 12 positions just described could staff 6 ambulances. You read that correctly they could staff 6 (SIX) ambulances. The city already had 3 ambulances around the clock 24 hours a day which is really 12 ambulance crews. Adding those 6 more ambulance crews to the fleet would give the city 4 1/2 ambulance crews around the clock which is needed by the looking at the number of EMS calls.
