WORCESTER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE Press release 10-23-14

     On October 20, 2014 at approximately 2113 hours a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was conducting a premise check at the Public Landing Boat Ramp. The Deputy observed an occupied vehicle in the parking lot of the boat ramp. The Deputy made contact with the occupants of the vehicle to explain the premise was closed after dark. While speaking to the occupants the Deputy detected a strong odor of burnt Marijuana coming from the vehicle.

      The Deputy searched the vehicle and found approximately 32.5 grams of suspected Marijuana in the possession of the rear seat occupant, identified as Kyle Taylor Satterfield, age 26, of Horntown Virginia. The Deputy also seized a glass smoking pipe, a metal grinder, and two packages of rolling paper.


     Mr. Satterfield was placed under arrest for possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and possession of paraphernalia. Mr. Satterfield was taken before a District Court Commissioner. Satterfield was released on his own personal recognizance pending a trial.

      On Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 at 3:22PM members of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to Wal-Mart, in Berlin for a Theft. Prior to Deputies arriving it was reported that the suspects had fled the area. The vehicle with the suspects was located by an Ocean Pines Police Officer and stopped.


     All the stolen property was recovered, then returned to Wal-Mart and written confessions were obtained after each suspect was advised of their Miranda Rights. The suspects were placed under arrest and charged with theft.
