Troopers Continue Death Investigation

Bear-Delaware State Police Detectives continue their investigation into the discovery of a body found on a walking trail near a wooded area in the 200 block of Rickey Boulevard, Bear early this morning.

The victim has been positively identified as a 19 year old male from Bear, Delaware. Preliminary investigation and examination of physical evidence at the scene by Troopers has determined that there does not appear to be suspicious circumstances, and foul play is not suspected surrounding his death. The Division of Forensic Science will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

The name of the 19 year old male is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

Delaware State Police Detectives continue their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident. No further information is available at this time. Additional investigative information will be released as it becomes available.

Bear-The Delaware State Police are conducting a death investigation after a body was found on a walking trail near a wooded area in the 200 block of Rickey Boulevard, Bear.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at approximately 7:53 a.m. as a passerby walking along the trail discovered the body of a male on the ground.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the unidentified male was found on the walking trail, just outside the wooded area. The age of the male or identity has not been determined at this time.

Troopers were able to access the remains and are working in coordination with the Division of Forensic Science to remove the body from the scene and will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death, and for positive identification.

Delaware State Police Detectives continue their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident. No further information is available at this time. Additional investigative information will be released as it becomes available.
